Recycle your old electronics for a good cause

We’re starting off 2012 by giving back. With technology rapidly evolving and today’s gadgets becoming tomorrow’s news rather quickly, TECKpert and Preemo are taking a green approach with Recycle-IT, Miami’s first ever E-Cycling campaign.

Everyone probably has an old computer, laptop, cell phone or printer just lying around that’s not working or just unwanted. Recyle-IT’s goal is to get those electronics out of your hands and recycled for a good cause.

100% of the proceeds raised will benefit The Foundation for New Education Initiatives, a non-profit entity created by the Miami-Dade County School Board. What’s even better is from now until February 29th, for every $1 raised in this campaign, the federal government will give Dade County Public Schools $10.

Sounds great right? Ready to donate? Just visit the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/recyclemiami and schedule a FREE pickup by filling out the form. That’s right, they’ll come pick it up right at your home or office. Make sure to like the Facebook page first to keep in touch with how the campaign is going. The campaign officially kicks off at Town Kitchen and Bar in South Miami at 6PM on Wednesday January 11th. Stop by and drop off those old electronics and have a good time while you’re at it.

Summer Internship Program Kicks Off

Our summer internship program is online and we are currently accepting applications! Here’s a brief description of the programs.

Online Marketing Intern

Looking to intern and work on projects related to online marketing? Our internship program will expose you to different industries from real estate and fashion to small business. We’ll be working with different technologies and strategies from content creation, search engine marketing (SEO/SEM), online advertising, location based marketing and social media.

Web Developer

We are seeking an intern to assist our development team in projects focusing primarily in front end web development. You’ll (1) be creating front end interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JQuery, (2) working with various programming languages including PHP (3) develop on platforms like WordPress (4) and integrate API’s including Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare. You will work with our development team assisting in day to day tasks from programming to unit testing.

Students enrolled at Florida International, University of Miami and the Art Institute can view a full description and requirements through their Career Center.

Website Launched: 13th Floor Investments

Looking for a new website that properly represents them as a leader in finance and real estate in South Florida, 13fi came to use to design and develop their new website. Featured on the website is a full team page that shows individual bios for everyone on the staff. Each team member is displayed with their profile image, contact information, and history. A user just has to click on a link to get in touch with anyone at the company. The portfolio page showcases properties 13fi has acquired and details the property with a description, image slideshow, and pinpoints its location on a Google Map.

Website Launched: Holston Gases

Developing a corporate website for a leading national supplier of Propane and CO2 was an exciting project for us. We wanted to feature the many locations for Holston on a single page using a map and descriptions including a store image. Showing Holston’s products and services and linking them to a location was important and we created a simple administrative console for linking them with locations. An interactive slideshow on the home page tells the story of the company and an intuitive contact modal box using jQuery opens up when you want to get in touch. We where pleased with the simplicity we maintained for the site while presenting the information we needed to get out there on the web.

Website Launched: Uni K Wax Centers

The new Uni K Wax website was launched with a fresh, new stylish design. The website is rich with content from information about services, explanations and descriptions about their wax, sections on rewards and offers, and a full featured blog. The website features live searching where you can enter a location including a city, state, and/or zip code and get suggestions on esults of the closest Uni K location.

Each wax center location features information on the center, a Google map, and the ability for the user to enter their address and get directions. The center landing page has information including center hours, a price menu, and downloadable forms. The website has an interactive press section showing Uni K in the media including magazines, blogs, and video. The website blog serves up fresh content on tips for waxing and new articles in fashion and beauty.

Website Launched: Squidigi

Social media is becoming more important every day for business. In our latest project, we created a website to promote just that. Squidigi, based out of Daytona, FL, provides marketing services and meaningful information on social media for business in the form of daily blog articles. The ‘Social Media Tips” section gives business owners useful tips on promoting their business.

Website Launched: Cole, Scott, & Kissane

We believe we set the bar for law firm websites with our latest project. A law firm the size of Cole, Scott, and Kissane, should have a website that is full of content from attorney profiles to publications. The content has to be easy to read and quick to get to. So we created an intuitive search accessible from any page with an enhanced search to find attorneys; one of the most important and used features of the website. As you browse the website and view attorneys, locations, and practice areas, you’ll find each are linked to the other. View a specific practice area and click to find out what locations specialize in this. If your viewing their locations, you’re just one click away to view what attorneys practice there. Publications, News, and Events are easy to find by date and category. Our newest launch represents what Law Firms today should look for in their own websites.
