An ecommerce site that focuses on selling personalized gifts for babies and kids. Our client was looking for a new design and new back-end that was easy to use by anyone at the company. One of the most important requirements was having the ability to add configurable products easily without having to come to a developer. On the front end, the user experience had to be easy when it came to picking the options the shopper wanted on each item. Features they wanted where newsletter sign-up, an easy CRM to manage clients, and the ability to streamline the ordering and shipping process.
Project description
eCommerce website built on the latest technology and packed with all the features. Provide shoppers with an enjoyable shopping experience. Goal was to increase sales and return customers with the integration of new technology.
How we did it
The first step in the design was understanding who the consumer is. The demographic consisted of a majority of woman users looking for gifts for friends and family or items for their own children. We had to keep this in mind when creating the look and feel of the site. More importantly, we had to pack features on the back end to support of the configurability of the products sold.
What we used
The ideal platform for Chad and Jake was Magento. The requirements all but chose the platform. We created a custom theme and worked with our client on getting him the look he was going for. We had to do a good deal of coding to extend the platform to meet those requirements. Magento proved up to the task.
