Teach Me Tax Appeals provides information on appealing property taxes in multiple states across the country. They provide a great blog on topics and sell an instructional video along with specific forms per state on appealing taxes. The site provides a simple easy to use map on the main page allowing for visitors to click on their state and view information on tax appeal in their state. It’s then just a one click process to checkout and purchase the DVD. Upon checkout, users can download the forms they need to appeal their property taxes in their home state.
Another great feature we created for the client is a customized advertising engine where they could upload advertiser information and button advertising images. We enabled the functionality that presented web visitors advertisements targeted to their geographical location. The management system was very easy and simple.
Project description
Primarily a simple ecommerce site with shopping cart and downloadable product capability, we combined information through a blog and enhanced product descriptions.
How we did it
The most important aspect of the front end design was to make it easy to present information to the user and get them to checkout easily. From the homepage to checkout had to be no more than 3 clicks. Once we figured out how to present the information, we did a good deal of Wordpress hacking and custom coding.
What we used
Wordpress with an ecommerce plugin is how we did it. We used a good deal of Javascript for the map UI to make it easy and responsive for the user. The custom advertising engine was all HTML, php, and mysql...developed specifically for our client.
